A host can protect a session with a password so a shared join code does not allow unintended players to enter.

Why players get stuck here

Passwords are useful for 18+, language-specific and trophy groups where the host needs a predictable roster.

Change it without ending the session

The host can open Session Details while playing and replace the password. This is useful if a code appeared on a stream, an LFG post attracted more people than expected or a former participant should no longer rejoin.

Changing the password protects future entry; use Session Details → Moderation Settings to remove or silence someone who is already connected. Never publish the code and password together.

Verify it before moving on

Before inviting everyone, agree on the host, world size, voice or text preference and the next session time. Those four details prevent most groups from losing progress or creating a world they cannot continue.
